Repairs

If your patient’s dentures are worn, fractured or are not fitting correctly and you have determined if they need to be repaired or replaced send them to our technician. Rebasing and Relining are two options that can extend the life of your patient’s dentures and in most cases can be done same day. Repairs can often restore your patient’s dentures to their original condition.

Rebasing Services

Rebasing may be required if the denture is broken or weak but the teeth are still in good shape. Our rebasing procedure uses high quality acrylic denture base material which replaces the existing denture base with all the teeth remaining in the same place.  Our new acrylic base will provide a stable denture without the added expense and time involved in replacing the denture teeth.

Relining Services

The requirement for relining occurs as bone and tissue shrinkage occurs changing the fit of a patient’s dentures. Our relining procedure ensures the surface of a denture still fits to the patient’s gums. A new acrylic base is placed into the denture, replicating the new form of the structures of the mouth. Our relining brings back suction, comfort, stability the denture as well as helps prevent food from getting under the denture.

Bone and tissue changes occur due to the resorption of oral tissue.  Resorption takes place over time and can be due to:

  • Weight loss.
  • Tooth loss.
  • Bone loss in the jaw.
  • General aging
  • Disease or illness.

We recommend that dentures be relined approximately every two or three years and are a normal part of denture maintenance.  Relines are important to the health of the oral tissues and bone support for denture wearers.
